4 renovation styles for the dining room

No matter the size of your home, the dining area is an absolutely necessary place in a home. It’s the place where the whole family gathers in the evenings, after a busy day or where everyone finds a place to relax, the place where you spend time together with your loved ones and enjoy your favorite goodies.

At the same time, dining is where you will entertain your guests, if you’re used to having visitors and inviting friends at the table, for holidays, birthdays, or just to show what new recipes you’ve discovered. That’s why it’s important to have a welcoming, pleasant space, and especially a space to represent you and fit your style.

When choosing a dining style, the first thing to keep in mind is the general style of the house. Even if it’s a separate room, it must still integrate well into the overall décor of the house. Then, it must fit your personality and needs.

Urban style

It’s a style that suits direct people who appreciate the functional aspect of things and the urban space. Furniture matching this style can be found in cafes and bars sought and frequented by urban youth all over the world. Industrial and unfinished chairs, furniture made of contrasting materials (wood, iron, plastic and steel) and metal decorations.

If you don’t want to change everything in the room, you can only bring in a couple of new things to set out the general tone.

A dining room renovated in an urban style is often a modern and contemporary one, it can’t be rustic for example, but it can integrate lots of elements of minimalism.

The central function of urban design is to create space, sometimes even in a surprising manner, areas of work or living with a lot of open space and vertical arrangements. The size of the pace can be increased by connecting it with a higher level, transforming some rooms with different purposes into new spaces.

Nordic style

It’s a renovation style suitable for those who appreciate the simple, calm and airy spaces in which all the items fit. It’s a space characterized by consistency, simplicity and functionality.

White is the basic color of this renovation style, most often white in contrast to black – a classic, immortal, elegant, yet simple combination. There are also color splashes, small accessories or decorative objects in bold, bright colors that attract attention – pastel colors or metallic colors.

The Nordic style honors nature, so materials are most often recyclable and accessible to any pocket: wood, textiles, plastics, paper, etc. In this way, the costs are considerably reduced in furniture and home accessories.

It’s also modern and intimate, very friendly to the needs of relaxation and comfort. The shapes are geometric, rectangular and circular, classic, but without being boring. The design is youthful, fresh through modularity and versatility solutions, and is inspired by the atmosphere of a complete family, with emphasis on young married couples and couples with many children.

Bright style

Some houses are brighter than others, depending on the orientation, the size of the windows and, in general, the amount of natural light they receive. A brighter house is always preferred. If you don’t benefit from natural light or if you simply like the bright and open style, you can obtain a brighter space using the right furniture and accessories. The light, white or natural wood furniture, with thin and minimal shapes, will help you obtain a brighter and more airy space.

Retro style

The interior design of the 1960s came back in trend for a few years and is therefore present in many furniture collections. Some believe that one of the reasons why the style was revived is the success of popular series at that time, such as “Mad Men” or “Aquarius”.

The current style has been called Modern Retro and includes furniture in the 1960s, a time when product designers constantly tested new concepts, shapes and ideas, looked more towards the future and created futuristic products.
